WHO I AM

I'm Coda (she/her). I'm a chatty, Black, American freelance writer, illustrator, and voice actor. But ultimately, I'm a storyteller. I've always had a vested interest in different mediums for sharing tales. Animation, comics, video games, skits, audio dramas—you name it, I'll want to see it. So if I can help someone get one step closer to making an exceptional release of a work that's dear to them, then that's more art to celebrate!

What THIS Is

Narrative consultation is a formal meeting with a storycraft expert who provides specialized advice on the plot structure, themes, characters, literary devices, and overall vision of your fiction project. If you’re looking for an informed, outside perspective on how to tackle a troublesome point in your story, then a Narrative Consultant may be right for you!

Anyone can send in a request! My personal mission is to help individuals or small teams who may not have the resources to hire a writer or an in-house consultant as they work independently on their narrative project.If your role in your project is Author, Narrative Designer, Lead Writer, or Narrative Director, then you’ll benefit best from my service!

  • Budget, sales, funding, or monetization
    e.g. “How much should I charge per release?”

PROCESS

1. Request

Submit a Request Form with a summary of your project and narrative concerns. You'll be contacted via email over whether I accept your request.

2. Booking

If accepted, you will be linked to my Setmore page in the same email, for which you can book the date and time for the consultation.

3. PREPARATION

At least 48 hours before consultation, please format and send me:

  • An overview or outline of your story
    (max. of 2 pages)

  • Bullet points of your goals this session
    (max. of 5 points)

  • Summarized character bios
    (max. of 2 pages)

4. Consultation

During, we will be on voice call to discuss and I will be taking notes. By end of session, I will deliver the the proposed or agreed upon solutions to your session goals via email or Discord chat.If we were not able to address every item you requested during the maximum 4 hours allotted, we can schedule a follow-up session.

5. Billing

Sessions are billed by the hour with a 1-hour minimum. (i.e. Completing a session in 2.5 hours will be billed for 3, etc.)You will be invoiced for the session within 2 hours after its end, and pay will be due upon receipt. Any future consultation service is ceased until payment is received.Payment via PayPal and Wise are accepted.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

I. AGE LIMITATION
1. You must be 18 years or older to request and receive this service.II. BOOKING & CANCELLATIONS
2. I have the right to refuse or cancel a consultation for any reason.
2.1. If I cancel due to personal sickness or emergency, I will proffer a reschedule.
2.2. For privacy reasons, if a different individual attends consultation in lieu of the original requester, the session will be terminated immediately.
2.3. If for any reason you are a no-show twice to your appointment, my services will no longer be open to you.
2.4. If you do not provide documents 48 hours before the scheduled session, the session will be canceled, and I will proffer a reschedule.III. PAYMENT & REFUNDS
3. All services are non-refundable.
3.1. Payment must be in USD only.
